How to Remove Dual Boot options in Windows XP

I've got this experience when i was trying to format my windows XP that were already in trouble.

The situation is; my hard drive is divided into 3 partition (C:, D:, E:).

At the time when the formatting is complete, the fresh install windows starts.

Sequential events:

  1. Windows accidentally installed to drive D >> my action; i reformat drive D.
  2. Installing Windows again and repeat the process, this time to drive C >> Finished well.
  3. When the computer restarting.... there are prompt two windows options boot; which windows that i choose to be loaded. but the two Windows XP are the same (here's the problem)
  4. Searching on Google for this problem >> Finally i found the solution:
    • In the My Computer icon, right-click >> Properties >> Advance
    •  Find Start Up and Recovery, click Settings >> Edit, it will appear with the name boot.ini notepad containing
             [boot loader]
             timeout = 30
             default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \ WINDOWS
             [operating systems]
             multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \ WINDOWS = "Microsoft Windows XP              Professional" / noexecute = optin / fastdetect
             multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (1) \ WINDOWS = "Microsoft Windows XP              Professional" / noexecute = optin / fastdetect
5. Remove the red part (do not forget to backup first)
6. Restart and boot will return to normal. The option to load the windows are gone.
 That, i should wrote this note, that if the incident come again i can remember the steps.
